JAVIER FRISCO - FOUND RECORDINGS!!

Amazing recently re-discovered recordings from the Cuban national, recorded sometime during the mid '60s. Primitive sci-fi electronics and surf-laden garage rock combine for what has been termed 'surfadelia'. The track "King of Abdera" begins with crowing gulls and soft ocean lap before suddenly dropping into a lazy 3-note riff that just keeps on going. Bored and mumbled vocals buried so heavily in reverb and just the right amount of delay carry a slightly sinister and ominous vibe that clashes with the 5pm summer evening feel of the instruments.

"Cathedral Harbour" sounds like it's been sped up via some primitive use of tape manipulation, and the spacetronic freakout at the end of the track sounds a bit like an analogue synth run through some studio FX.

Essential stuff. More to be unearthed and uploaded soon enough.
